Client

A serial entrepreneur based in Israel dissatisfied with all the Contact applications on his phone with a vision to create modern Yellow Pages.

Challenge

The Contacts application market is crowded but does not offer much innovation. The client wanted help with creating a user-centric app that is also different from the competition.

There were some other problems or obstacles that needed creative problem-solving:

  • Limited budget
  • International market
  • Finding main selling point
  • App that tries to do everything

What was handed to me

Contact information sharing
and up-to-date information

For ease of sharing yours or others contact information, they can be also accessed via a URL. However, you're in control of who sees what information. For example, If you get the app you'd be able to see more information if the person have you in their Contacts. This also helps with conversion of non-App users.

Context-aware quick dial or message buttons

Big percentage of the users communicate using one or two apps max with most of their contacts. Though these apps might change from Contact to Contact. Therefore, there's a quick and easy to reach way of calling or messaging a person based on what you use the most with that particular person.
Taking mobile context into considerations, the quick contact options are changed based on access to internet connection, etc.

Conclusion

The client was satisfied with the simplification of the product and the UX after which iterative Visual design and development started that required consultation and review.

Unfortunately the project was not developed and published fully due to unfortunate death of the founder.
